September 11th is Patriot Day and a National Day of Service and Remembrance. On this day Americans across the country are called to volunteer in their local communities in tribute to the individuals lost and injured in the attacks, first responders, and the many who have risen in service to defend freedom.

Each year, AmeriCorps engages thousands of veterans in service and assist more than 500,000 veterans and military families. Giving Tuesday is an opportunity for people around the world to come together to thank, help, give, show kindness, and share what they have with those in need. It takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is a day that encourages people to do good.

The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is a defining moment each year when Americans across the country step up to make our communities more equitable and take action to create the Beloved Community of Dr. King’s dream. Observed each year on the third Monday in January, MLK Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national day of service, and AmeriCorps has led this effort for the past quarter century. National Mentoring Month is an annual campaign that aims to recruit volunteer mentors to help America’s youth achieve their full potential.
